Plot
Two Harkonnen sisters fight against the forces that threaten the future of humanity and found a legendary sect that would become known as the Bene Gesserit. Whether they are exploring the stars, escaping dystopia, or making the world a better place, these women are what science fiction is all about. Anderson.

A prequel to the original Dune, it tells how Rossak’s Sisterhood became the Bene Gesserit. The incident with Valya Harkonnen using her voice comes from one of them titled “Mentats of Dune.” All three books intertwine the development of the Sisterhood, the Mentats, the Navigators, and the Suk Doctors. This spin-off is more like Game of Thrones than Dune.
It’s a great spin-off of a beloved film series
That said, Dune: Prophecy is everything I expected and more. I have to start by saying that I’ve never read the source material or seen the original film. My experience with Dune is based on the two Dune films that came out in the last few years starring Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya.
I absolutely loved them, so I had high expectations for this series
Those two films (especially Dune: Part Two) are two of my favorite films I’ve seen in the last few years. Dune: Prophecy is a series that takes place 10,000 years before the Dune films begin and tells the story of how the Harkonnen sisters founded the Bene Gesserit as a force to combat the future of humanity. The show may be more like Game of Thrones than Dune, but it’s still…
a lot of fun
The most important thing about this show is that it does exactly what it set out to do, which is deepen our understanding of the Bene Gesserit. You don’t have to watch two Dune movies to enjoy this, but you’ll definitely enjoy it more if you do.
