Inspired by true stories and directed by Magnus von Horn, GIRL WITH A NEEDLE follows young factory worker Caroline (Vika Carmen Søne) as she struggles to survive in post-World War I Copenhagen. When she is unemployed, abandoned and pregnant, she meets Dagmar (Trine Dyrholm), a charismatic woman who runs an underground adoption agency, helping mothers find foster homes for their unwanted children. With nowhere else to turn, Caroline takes on the role of a wet nurse. A strong bond develops between the two women, but Caroline’s world is shattered when she learns the shocking truth behind her job.
